Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream + Photo Set Pressed Powder

I visited the Beauty Bar looking for lightweight and natural every day face base. The shop’s beauty consultant recommended these two (2) products: Smashbox’s Camera Ready BB Cream (PhP1,900.00) and Photo Set Pressed Powder (PhP1,500.00). I purchased both in the shade Light.

Camera Ready BB Cream

The Camera Ready BB Cream is exactly what I asked for. It is lightweight, has light to medium coverage, has great texture that’s easy to apply and blend, moisturizing, and looks very much like my real skin, but with a healthy, beautiful glow.

A little of this product is enough to cover the mild redness I have around my nose and even out my skin tone. When applied to my under eye area, I find that I don’t even need to use concealer.

I love the finish of this. It makes my complexion dewy, but it did make my t-zone oily after about 3 hours. Nothing an oil-blotting paper  and a layer of dusting powder cannot correct. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this for ladies who are looking for some serious oil control power in their makeup.

This is good til the last drop. It stayed true to its advertised shade to the very end, unlike other BB creams I’ve tried in the past that tend to go dark when you’re nearing the bottom of your tube.

Photo Set Pressed Powder

The Photo Set Pressed Powder has beautiful formulation– very fine, feels silky on my face and glides on smoothly. However, I don’t feel that it does a lot to help control oil, and the powder only sits on my face without really blending into my skin. It does photograph beautifully though. No chalky white cast!

I would recommend these products for those with dry or combination to dry skin. And while they are not exactly suited for my combination to oily skin, the formulation was fantastic and didn’t cause me any break outs, didn’t crease or settle into my fine lines, and don’t have obnoxious smell.
